West Point Public Schools kicked off the 2024-2025 academic year with an energetic and inspiring Convocation event on August 6, 2024. The day was a vibrant blend of celebration, recognition, and forward-thinking, with a distinguished presence from members of the School Board and Town leaders.
The West Point Middle High School Cheerleaders added to the festive atmosphere by enthusiastically welcoming each staff member and energizing the crowd.
In a heartfelt segment, new teachers were formally introduced to the existing staff, marking their official welcome into the West Point Public Schools family. Service recognition pins were awarded to those celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 years of dedicated service. This acknowledgment reflects West Point’s appreciation for their unwavering commitment and contributions to our students.
The highlight of the day was a hope-filled keynote address by Cathleen Beachboard, who delivered a motivational and supportive message. Her words, “We can’t change a child’s home life, but we can change a child’s hope in life”, resonated deeply, setting a positive tone for the year ahead.
